Teachers' Day Celebration 2018

October 5 marks the World Teachers’ Day. It speaks to a massive token of the mindfulness, comprehension and thankfulness showed for the fundamental commitment that educators make in teaching. The goal is to honor the educators around the world. Teachers play an important role in the society. A good teacher helps us to become good human being in the society and good citizen of the country. Teachers know that students are the future of any nation. Because of those important aspects that the teacher possesses, it is not regretful to give appreciation and honor them to pay the hardships and sacrifices through a simple yet meaningful Teachers’ Day Celebration.

Maypajo Elementary school celebrated the World Teachers’ Day on the exact date of its yearly celebration. The celebrations’ theme was “ Gurong Pilipino: Turo Mo, Kinabukasan Ko”. The celebration puts to limelight the crucial role, loyal service, and dedicated commitment of teachers in developing globally competitive learners, strengthening communities, and building the nation.

Teachers, pupils of the morning session and GPTA Officers joined the celebration.

It was a whole day celebration facilitated by the pupils. There was a program in the morning hosted by the two pupils from grade six. The program started by singing of the National Anthem conducted by a grade six pupil, and followed by the doxology from the selected grade three pupils. Opening remarks was given by Ms. Josephine L. Perez, Master Teacher II. She stressed out to the pupils the vital role and importance of every teacher. Where teachers need to value and respect because of the power that the teacher can change the world into a better one.

The next event of the program highlighted the performances of the pupils each grade level to amuse the teacher celebrants. They were not failed to surprise and entertain the teachers because of the different talents they rendered. It’s a happiness of a teacher seeing their pupils perform on stage.

Everyone was inspired and motivated when Ma’am Josefina A. Pelayo, the School Principal was on stage. She gave inspirational message where the teacher can bring into battle when something not in good fate in the life of career. Truly the power of encouragement, inspiration and dedication to the service and motherly advices was transpired to the celebrants.

Happiness truly felt especially when the dedication and all the sacrifices by the teachers were recognized. Ma’am Josefina A. Pelayo awarded the Plaques to the Teachers’ Choice Awardee, Pupils’ Choice Awardee, certificates and gifts to all dedicated teachers. She gave a ream of long bond paper to every teacher where really helps on the teachers’ paper works.

Not only the teachers but also the pupils of the school were amused because of the two adorable creatures sent to the school by McDonalds. They offered a dance number and taught some dance steps to everybody. Teacher celebrants, pupils, even the principal Ma’am Pelayo happily danced together with the two adorable creatures.

There was a lunch break after the morning program. A simple yet sumptuous lunch was set up per grade level. After refreshing the stomach, Ma’am Pelayo again talked about how lucky the teachers are. After that, as to express the heartfelt thanks of all her subordinates, in behalf of the faculty, Mrs. Lydia Cordero, the Faculty President gave the bouquet to the principal Ma’am Josefina A. Pelayo.

It was a blast to everybody when the selected GPTA Officers offered a dance number. Everyone was entertained and happy because of the initiatives of the school partners. One of the exciting parts of the program was the raffle draw where the prizes were hearty given by the GPTA officers.

The celebration was indeed a successful and enjoyable.

Truly "A teacher takes a hand, opens a mind and touches a heart". Definitely Maypajo family is moving on its real phase because of good leaders.
