Second Parents and Teachers' Conference

General Parents and Teachers Association, is really a great help to teachers, parents and students. Their cooperation and leadership being done in the school contribute meaningfully in the development of the school. It was agreed upon with our principal that there should be a monthly parents meeting thus the second parents and teachers conference was held last Saturday, September 1, 2018. It was well attended by teachers, GPTA and Grade level officers and parents.

The energetic principal of Maypajo Elementary School, Mrs. Josefina A. Pelayo gave her introductory welcome for our new Assistant to the Principal Dr. Jennifer Galicio, principal understudy formerly from Kaunlaran Elementary School. A token of appreciation and bunch of flowers was given to her with so much joy and appreciation. Then it was followed by the reports of the school coordinators.

Mr. Emmanuel Lacibal, take the lead and report about Learner Information System, the total enrolment of the school year 2018-2019, total number of transfer in and out, dropped out, failure, and promoted students.

Mr. Jovic Laforteza, the School Property Custodian reported the status of school facility such as the four existing building, classroom, urinals, number of chairs and desk. He also discussed information about books with a ratio of 1 is to 1 per pupil and other learning materials used by the teacher.

Meanwhile, Mrs Emilia S. Bevera, reported about the MOOE, which was spent the consumption of the school daily electricity, water, telephone and internet connection and others. The payment of which is divided to pay for the ID and test papers be given to all children for free .

Mrs. Judith G. Gumban, our Reading Coordinator in Filipino, reported the total number of readers and non-readers per grade level. She had also reminded and encouraged the parents to establish a good and harmonious relationship with their children to help them not just a reader but become a reader with comprehension. She also included the different strategies and techniques used by the teachers in reading.

Ms. Josephine Perez, Mathematics Coordinator, reported about the on going MTAP Saturday class. It was started September 1 and will end on October 6, 2018. On October , there will be a Math MTAP Challenge for teachers, and this year’s host city is Caloocan.

Mrs. Marie Tendido, Science Coordinator, talked about the Science month and the upcoming contest like science quiz bee, poster making and more.

Mr. Emil F. Bangit, MAPEH Coordinator together with Mr. Jessie San Jose, encouraged the parents to join their children in Guitar, Lyre and Drum lesson. Mr. Bangit, also discussed the upcoming contest in MAPEH like Kundiman, Quiz bee, Halina’t Buhayin ang Lyre at Drum.

Mrs. Mary Rose P. Bon, English Journalism Coordinator reported and reminded the parents for the P60.00 mandated donation for Journalism contestant while P25.00 for a regular pupils.

Mrs. Martiniana C. Santos, Filipino Coordinator and Journalism Coordinator in Filipino requested the parents to continously support the Journalism contest up to National category and she also acknowledge the winners on the recently concluded Buwan ng Wika contest.

Mrs. Gina Lopez, Eco-Saver Coordinator, reported the on-going canvassing of the Eco-Modelo contest.

Ms. Analyn S. Pavo, Edukasyon Sa Pagpapakatao Coordintor, promoted the School, Teachers and Pupils' Matra and the “Katangian ng Guro/Batang Mag-aaral ng Maypajo”.

Mrs. Chiqui Julianne S. Pascua, Red Cross Coordinator, informed and encourage the parents to be a member of the organization. Registration fee is P100.00 for parent and P60.00 for students. She also shared about the Standard Basic Training held last August and informed that Maypajo Elementary School won 1st Place in Bandaging category.

Mr. Martin S. Borromeo, Disaster Risk and Rescue Coordinator, talked about the National Earthquake Drill conducted last August 16, 2018. It was a successful drill through the help of the teachers, Barangay officials and BFP team.

Mrs. Anacleta G. Supan, Brigada Coordinator, reported about the big improvement of school surroundings as well as the projects and activities done for the improvement of the school and pupils of Maypajo Elementary School.

Mrs. Winda S. De Leon, Clinician Coordinator, gave a detailed information about the school vaccination, immunization, deworming. She also discussed about the proper hygiene and it’s importance which should be done at home and while they are inside the school.

In behalf of Ms. Mary Anne Lilagan, Feeding Coordinator, Mrs. Emilia S. Bevera reported about the feeding program of the school and it’s 418 beneficiaries.

Mrs. Delia Alvares , GPTA President, presented the result of the GPTA project such as plant box, planting of herbal plants, cleanliness of the school vicinity and project proposal for beautification and improvement of school facilities. Observing dress code for parents who are coming in and out of the school premises was also discussed by Mrs. Alvarez. She also reminded the parents that the donation must be in a form of materials like hollow blocks, cement, paint, man power, etc.

The summary of all the school reports was well presented by Mrs. Josefina A. Pelayo. She discussed in detailed all the improvements happening in the school and she reiterated once again some school guidelines such as the returning of books. She also inspired the parents with her inspiring personal experience on how she became successful in life and stands firm with the saying that “ Ang kahirapan ay hindi hadlang sa pagiging matagumpay sa buhay”.

To end the successful Parents and Teachers Conference, Mrs. Josefina A. Pelayo expressed her gratitude to parents and teachers for showing their interest for the smooth activities being done. She reminded them that working together hand and hand is satisfying and fulfilling. Teachers and parents should be transparent in everything they do and increase their awareness on school matter to foster harmonious relationship with one another.
